Summer is here!

Although the summer does not officially start until the solstice, it certainly feels as though the season is upon us here in our little valley at Owlpen.  As our wedding guests enjoyed the gardens yesterday the mercury rose to 26 degrees, hotter than Spain or the south of France.  Thankfully there is plenty of shade under the yew trees, some of which were planted over 400 years ago.

All of our wedding parties rent out all of the romantic self-catering holiday cottages which are dotted around the valley, and everyone is busy here making sure that all of them are beautifully presented for guests every Monday and Friday.  We have been welcoming many guests from AirBnB recently, and they all seem to love the charm and character of the Cotswold holiday cottages, some of which are listed buildings, with their own gardens and beautiful views.   Here is a flavour of the comments coming in over the past week:

"Idyllic setting in the Cotswold countryside. A great base for day trips to the Cotswold villages and to Bath, but do save some time for exploring the grounds, taking hikes, and meeting the locals in Uley."

"The Court House cottage at Owlpen Manor was hands down the coolest place I have ever spent the night. A genuine 1600s farm cottage that has all of the quirks to go with it."

"An incredible stay in Uley! Pictures don't do this cottage justice, it was absolutely beautiful & so so cosy!"

"We loved everything about Karin's place. Beautifully decorated cottage and the estate with its land was magical. We hope to be back."

We still have midweek availability for holidays this summer, so if you're in need of a break from the rat race, do get in touch with us here at Owlpen.  In the meantime, enjoy the sunshine!
