Parking
Approach Owlpen from the Green by the Old Crown at Uley. Continue down the narrow lane for about half a mile until you see the sign to ‘Owlpen Manor’.
Carry on 100 yards towards the field in front of the house, behind the marquee at the lowest point of the valley.
The way to Owlpen...

Owlpen Manor is a mile east of Uley, off the B4066. At the small Green past the Old Crown pub in Uley (just opposite the Church), you will see OWLPEN signposted, one mile.
Uley is between Tetbury, Stroud (both 6 miles) and Dursley (3 miles west), signposted from the A4135.
The M4 (from London) is 12 miles south. Exit at Junction 18 and follow the A46 north in the direction of Stroud as far as the crossroads with the A4135. Then go west towards Dursley, turning second right after the Hunters’ Hall pub in Kingscote down to village of Uley on the B4066. Turn right into the village and at the green by Old Crown pub follow signs to Owlpen.
The M5 Junctions 13 (north) and 14 (south) are a few minutes west of Owlpen: head for the B4066.

Not for the most explicit of Ordnance Maps would I have forgone the folk directions given as follows: "You must go along the green and down the hill by Fiery Lane until you come to Cuckoo Brook, then a little further on you will pass Horn Knep, after which you will go by Dragon’s Den; next you go through Potlid Green; after that is Marling’s End, and that will bring you to OWLPEN, but you must take care not to miss the road."
H.J. MASSINGHAM, 1937

The Church of the Holy Cross
Owlpen Church is richly decorated with wonderful mosaics and tiles in opus sectile by Powells, and stained glass windows. Hugo was baptised in the Norman font, virtually all that remains of the medieval church.
