OWLPEN in its magical Cotswold valley setting has long been recognised as one of the most romantic places in England. For nearly 40 years, nine home-from-home Cotswold holiday cottages sleeping from two to eight guests have been created for holidays and short breaks to a discerning international clientele.
The famous Tudor manor house (1450-1616) stands in an early formal garden of magnificent yews at the heart of the estate, steeped in 900 years of history. Owlpen and its hamlet of secluded Cotswold holiday cottages form a relaxing hideaway, surrounded by private woods and hills in the most dramatic landscape of the Cotswold hills. Owlpen's luxury offers peace and seclusion such as you will find nowhere else in southern England.
The licenced Cyder House restaurant is set in an atmospheric medieval building where we serve home-cooked, seasonal meals for private parties, with an emphasis on the fresh produce of the working farm and garden. The restaurant, manor house and holiday cottages adapt as the Cotswolds' most romantic setting for weddings, celebrations, gatherings of friends, meetings and corporate events.
Nicholas and Karin Mander welcome you to Owlpen to experience this breathtaking and dreamy corner of the Cotswolds first hand and at leisure. We hope these pages will give you some flavour of the experience of Owlpen and its cottages: "the jewel of the Cotswolds". The Owlpen lifestyle today continues the centuries-old traditions of hospitality, in the spirit of the family motto: vive bene, "live well".
The manor house is closed in 2013 for conservation,
works. However, it is open for group bookings, weddings and events.
